Building on the success of last year’s aerial coverage, the 2025 Light the Knights Festival was approached with a clear goal: push creative boundaries while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance. In addition to capturing new conventional aerial perspectives over two nights, this year’s production expanded into immersive storytelling—introducing FPV drone flights to bring viewers directly into the heart of the festivities.
This project required extensive pre-production planning, on-site safety coordination, and a dedicated team of visual observers to support complex flight operations. Deliverables included new cinematic drone imagery, a ground-based hyperlapse captured with a motorized camera slider, and fully immersive FPV content—highlighted by a complete concourse tour and dynamic flights over people showcasing the energy of the event. These operations were made possible through extensive UAS experience, a compliant small FPV drone platform, and an FAA waiver authorizing operations over people and moving vehicles—allowing for creative perspectives that are rarely achievable in live event environments.
