Butner Warner Solar – Award Winning In The Field Epsiode

Produced and filmed an award-winning episode of McKim & Creed’s In The Field series at the Butner Warner Solar Site in Fayetteville, NC, showcasing the firm’s new Wingtra UAS platform and its LiDAR and photogrammetry capabilities. Working as a one-person production crew, I managed the full on-site production, capturing interviews with technical staff, ground cinematography, project photography, traditional aerial footage, and supporting visuals of the technology being deployed in the field.

To bring another perspective to the story, the production also included coordinated drone-to-drone aerial cinematography, capturing the Wingtra aircraft in flight as it performed its mapping mission over the solar site. Combining technical interviews with ground and aerial storytelling created a comprehensive look at not only the technology itself, but the people, expertise, and real-world applications behind it.

The completed episode went on to earn 2nd Place for Best Drone Video of the Year in the Zweig Group Marketing Excellence Awards, recognizing the production’s aerial cinematography and visual storytelling.
